President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to put “maximum pressure” on Iran. This means the US will impose strong sanctions to limit Iran’s oil exports. Trump said he was “torn” about signing the order, but he believes it’s necessary to stop Iran from developing a nuclear weapon.

The president thinks Iran is close to getting a nuclear weapon, but he’s determined to prevent that from happening. “They’re very strong right now, and we’re not going to let them get a nuclear weapon,” Trump said.

Lawmakers, including Senators Lindsey Graham and John Fetterman, agree that something needs to be done about Iran’s nuclear threat. They’ve introduced a resolution that keeps all options on the table, including military action.
