US-Israeli air strikes destroyed the tallest bridge in the Middle East after Donald Trump pledged to send Iran “back to the stone ages”.
The B1 bridge in Karaj was struck by three bombs as several civilian targets were hit across Iran on Thursday.
Air strikes also destroyed a century-old medical research centre in Tehran and targeted the family of a top negotiator involved in talks to end the war.
Mr Trump boasted about the attack on the bridge on his Truth Social platform, writing: “The biggest bridge in Iran comes tumbling down, never to be used again – Much more to follow! IT IS TIME FOR IRAN TO MAKE A DEAL BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE, AND THERE IS NOTHING LEFT OF WHAT STILL COULD BECOME A GREAT COUNTRY!”
