The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) is a Baloch ethno-nationalist insurgent group that seeks independence for Balochistan from Pakistan.

  • It operates mainly in Pakistan’s Balochistan province
  • It has carried out armed attacks on:
    • Pakistani security forces
    • Infrastructure (railways, gas pipelines)
    • Chinese interests linked to CPEC
  • It is banned and officially designated a terrorist organisation by:
    • Pakistan
    • The United States (since 2019)

According to its statements and actions, the BLA seeks:

  1. Independence of Balochistan
    • Complete separation from Pakistan
  2. Control over local resources
    • Balochistan has major gas, mineral, and coastal resources
    • Nationalists argue locals do not benefit from them
  3. End to military presence
    • Claims of enforced disappearances and human-rights abuses
    • Demands withdrawal of security forces.
    • According to its statements and actions, the BLA seeks:

  7. Israel’ interests align with BLA in such a way that like they support Kurdish independence. They also want to support Balochistan’s independence as well. Their core interests align.
    Moreover, if the world wants to avoid Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal threat so it will have to support Balochistan Liberation Army in the region.
