Chicago – March 30, 2026

aylor Swift has been sued for trademark infringement over the title of her album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” according to Reuters. The lawsuit was filed by Las Vegas performer Maren Wade, who says Swift’s branding could confuse audiences and overshadow her long-running “Confessions of a Showgirl” stage show.

In the complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Wade seeks to block Swift from using the “Showgirl” branding and is also asking for monetary damages. Reuters reported that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office previously raised concerns about possible confusion between Swift’s trademark application and Wade’s earlier mark.

Swift’s representatives and Universal Music Group did not immediately comment.
