Chicago – January 05, 2025

On December 21, 2024, the Bharatiya Senior Citizens of Chicago (BSC) organized an exciting Karaoke Talent Program at the Rana Reagan Center in Carol Stream, Illinois.

The event began at 3 PM and was attended by more than 900 enthusiastic members. Renowned singer and emcee Bharti Desai anchored the show, captivating the audience with her charismatic personality and melodious voice throughout the evening.

BSC President Haribhai Patel opened the event with a warm welcome to all the participants and attendees, setting the tone for a delightful evening of performances.

Over 40 talented members took to the stage to showcase their abilities, performing a mix of timeless Bollywood songs, Tippani folk dances from Gujarat, and vibrant Bollywood-style dance routines inspired by Indian festivals such as Uttarayan, Holi, Janmashtami, Navratri, and Diwali.

The choreography for the dance performances was handled by BSC member Jaya Baxi, who also took charge of the stage decorations, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Other members contributed with soulful bhajans, classical Raag Malhar, and skilled keyboard performances. Among the evening’s highlights were Rita Patel’s heartfelt rendition of “Mausam Hai Ashiqana” from the iconic film Pakeezah, Bhavin Kadakia’s engaging narration of the story of the Pandavas, and Ramesh Bhrambhat’s spirited performance of the song “Ame Amdavadi.”

The participants primarily performed classic hits by legendary singers Mukesh, Kishore Kumar, and Mohammed Rafi, evoking nostalgia and delight among the audience.

Adding an artistic touch to the evening, committee member Arvind Guna Patel curated an exhibition of Shri Nathji paintings, which drew admiration from attendees.

After the program, BSC Executives distributed beautifully designed certificates to all participants as a token of appreciation for their contributions.

Hari Patel, the program organizer, extended heartfelt thanks to the team of volunteers and key contributors, including Jayanti Oza, Jaya Baxi, Tariq Khan, Pankaj Patel, Ramesh Rupani, Mahesh Danak, Shilpa Desai, and Mahendra Patel, for their hard work and dedication in making the event a grand success.
