Carlos Alcaraz claimed his second US Open title with a commanding four-set victory over Jannik Sinner, winning 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York. This win marked Alcaraz’s sixth Grand Slam title and his return to the world No. 1 ranking, dethroning Sinner who held the top spot for 65 weeks.

The match, delayed by roughly 30 minutes due to heightened security measures linked to US President Donald Trump’s attendance, showcased Alcaraz’s improved serving and aggressive style.

After a strong start by Alcaraz, Sinner responded by taking the second set, but Alcaraz dominated thereafter, notably out-hitting Sinner with a higher count of winners and maintaining control during key moments. He clinched the victory on his third match point with an ace, celebrating with his signature golf swing.

At just 22 years old, Alcaraz now stands as the second youngest male player in history, after Bjorn Borg, to win six major titles. The victory also extended his head-to-head lead against Sinner to 10-5, continuing the thrilling rivalry between these two leading faces of men’s tennis. The US Open final was their third consecutive Grand Slam final clash in 2025, underscoring their rising dominance in the sport.
