Nightline: Elon Musk Announces ‘America Party’ Following Break with President Trump Over Tax Cuts

Elon Musk has decided to create a new political party called the “America Party.” This comes after Musk had a falling out with President Donald Trump over a new law that cuts taxes. Musk, who had been a strong supporter of Trump, was upset with the law and promised to form his own party if it passed.

Even though new political parties often struggle to gain support, Musk’s wealth and influence could make a big difference in future elections. Musk, the world’s richest person, has already spent millions supporting Trump in the 2024 election, and if he invests more money, he could affect the 2026 elections, which will decide who controls Congress.

Musk’s businesses, which depend on government contracts, could face challenges due to his ongoing feud with Trump. Tesla, Musk’s well-known company, has also seen a drop in stock value.

It’s still unclear whether Musk has officially started the process of creating the “America Party.” His representatives have not commented on the situation yet.
