Chicago – September 1, 2026

Sarita Panday has condemned the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) event held at Madison Square Garden in New York, raising concerns over the organization’s ideology and its presence at a prominent public venue.

Panday criticized the event and said that organizations promoting divisive politics should be subject to public scrutiny. Her remarks come amid debate among Indian-American groups over the RSS’s activities and its influence within the Indian diaspora in the United States.

The Madison Square Garden gathering drew supporters as well as opposition from community activists and interfaith organizations. Critics have accused the RSS of promoting Hindu nationalist politics, while supporters describe it as a cultural and social organization focused on Indian heritage and community service.

Panday’s comments add to growing discussion within the Indian-American community over political and ideological differences surrounding the RSS and its international activities.
