Chicago – June 22, 2025

Pakistan’s UN envoy has delivered a powerful message to the Security Council, dramatically increasing pressure on Israel over its Gaza campaign:

Pakistan censured Israel’s tactics as “genocidal,” accusing it of using starvation as a weapon and deliberately attacking hospitals, schools, mosques, and humanitarian convoys—a violation of international law.

The envoy demanded an indefinite, continuous ceasefire, full restoration of humanitarian access, and insisted that failure to comply would necessitate decisive action from the Security Council.

Highlighting the severity of the crisis, Pakistan warned that 90% of Gaza’s population is facing famine, newborns are dying, and the world is witnessing a “systematic effort to ethnically cleanse” Palestinians.

Pakistan’s representative dropped a clear ultimatum: if the Security Council doesn’t enforce a ceasefire and protect civilians, it will be complicit in the ongoing atrocities.

Pakistan’s statement marks a significant escalation—framing the UN inaction as morally and legally unacceptable, and pledging accountability if Israel’s operations continue. This bold stance puts new diplomatic focus on Gaza relief and heightens calls for Security Council intervention.
