Iran Warns US of Heavy Consequences
Iran has warned the US of heavy consequences after airstrikes on its nuclear sites, calling President Donald Trump a “gambler” for joining Israel’s military campaign. The US dropped massive bunker-buster bombs on Iranian nuclear sites, including the Fordow nuclear plant, which experts say may have been severely damaged or destroyed. Iran’s spokesperson, Ebrahim Zolfaqari, stated, “Mr Trump, the gambler, you may start this war, but we will be the ones to end it.”

Escalating Tensions
The airstrikes have escalated tensions between Iran and the US, with Iran continuing to fire missiles at Israel but not yet taking direct action against the US. Trump’s administration claims its aim is to destroy Iran’s nuclear program, not open a wider war. However, Trump has suggested toppling Iran’s hardline clerical rulers in a social media post, fueling global concern about further escalation.

Global Concerns and Economic Impact
The conflict has raised concerns about global oil prices and economic stability. Iran’s parliament has approved a move to close the Strait of Hormuz, which could send oil prices skyrocketing and invite conflict with the US Navy. Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi is set to hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, amid heightened tensions.
