Chicago – July 16, 2025

An “American Idol” music supervisor, Robin Kaye, and her husband, Thomas Deluca, were tragically found dead in their Los Angeles home on Monday afternoon. Police were conducting a welfare check in the Encino neighborhood when they discovered the couple’s bodies, both with gunshot wounds.

The victims, both 70 years old, were confirmed by a spokesperson from “American Idol” to be Robin Kaye and Thomas Deluca. Public records show that they owned the home where the incident occurred.

The suspect, Raymond Boodarian, 22, from Reseda, was arrested on Tuesday afternoon. Authorities believe he had no prior connection to the couple. Boodarian is suspected of breaking into the home while the couple returned and shooting them during a struggle. Police have found no evidence linking him to any organized burglary rings, and they believe this was an isolated incident. Although he doesn’t have a history of burglaries, Boodarian does have a criminal record.

Detectives used facial recognition technology from surveillance footage and other forensic evidence to identify and apprehend Boodarian at his home around 3 p.m. on Tuesday. He was arrested without incident, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
