Chicago – March 03, 2026

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh extended an olive branch to Saudi Arabia, declaring Riyadh as “our brothers” while categorically denying any role in the recent drone attack on the Ras Tanura oil facility.

In a an interview with CNN, Khatibzadeh revealed Iran had proactively informed Saudi counterparts of its non-involvement, underscoring deep fraternal ties amid regional challenges. “Saudi Arabia is our brother, and we did not strike their facilities,” the official affirmed, aiming to dispel accusations and foster unity.

This reassurance highlights Iran’s commitment to de-escalation with Gulf neighbors, even as tensions simmer from unrelated conflicts. No evidence links Tehran to the incident, which caused minor disruptions at the key refinery.

Such diplomacy signals potential for strengthened Saudi-Iran relations, prioritizing stability over provocation.
