Chicago – March 28, 2026

Iran has rejected a U.S.-backed ceasefire proposal, setting five strict conditions for ending the conflict. These include an immediate halt to all Israeli/U.S. attacks and assassinations, guarantees against future conflict, payment of war reparations, an end to hostilities against regional allies, and exclusive Iranian sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.

Key Conditions for Ceasefire:

  • End of Aggression: A complete halt to attacks and assassinations, specifically stopping “cuts to the head of the octopus” actions targeting Iranian officials.
  • Security Guarantees: Establishment of concrete, verifiable guarantees to prevent the resumption of hostilities.
  • Reparations: Payment of war damages and compensation for infrastructure destroyed during the conflict.
  • Comprehensive Regional End: An end to hostilities across all fronts, including attacks on allied groups across the region.
  • Strait of Hormuz Sovereignty: Formal recognition of Iran’s full control over the Strait of Hormuz, rejecting joint management proposals.

Iran’s officials labeled the 15-point U.S. proposal as “excessive” and stated they would continue military operations, threatening “heavy blows,” until these conditions are met.
