President Donald Trump has fired Attorney General Pam Bondi and named Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche as acting attorney general, according to multiple major outlets. Trump announced Bondi’s removal on Thursday and said Blanche would take over in an acting capacity. Blanche, a former federal prosecutor and one of Trump’s former defense lawyers, is now temporarily leading the Justice Department while the White House considers a permanent replacement.
