The long-standing dispute surrounding the Bhojshala–Kamal Maula complex in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, has once again drawn national attention in India. Hindu groups claim the site is an ancient Saraswati temple known as Bhojshala, while Muslim communities maintain it is the historic Kamal Maula Mosque.
Recent archaeological surveys and ongoing court proceedings have intensified debate over the site’s religious identity. Hindu organizations are demanding full recognition of the complex as a Saraswati Mandir, whereas Muslim groups have opposed the move and called for preservation of the mosque’s status.
Authorities continue to maintain security in the area amid rising public interest. At present, no final court ruling has permanently transferred the site into a temple, and the matter remains under legal consideration. The case is seen as one of several sensitive religious disputes currently unfolding in India.
