Chicago – June 01, 2026

The United States has reportedly begun implementing stricter measures targeting immigrants under policies linked to the Trump administration. According to media reports, these measures aim to limit immigrants’ access to employment, housing, and healthcare, while prioritizing American citizens, green card holders, and other legally eligible individuals.

Recent developments include the dismissal of long-term workers at Boston Airport, some of whom had reportedly been employed for decades despite holding Social Security numbers. Officials have stated that such positions will now be reassigned to citizens and authorized residents.

Analysts suggest that the broader objective of these policies is to make living conditions more difficult for undocumented immigrants, potentially encouraging voluntary departure. Reports indicate that fear among immigrant communities has already led to reduced tax filings, lower healthcare utilization, and decreased travel activity.

An estimated 116,000 individuals without permanent legal status are said to have left the country. Additionally, proposals under consideration include limiting federal subsidies for certain U.S.-born children and restricting work permits for asylum seekers, signaling a continued tightening of immigration policy.
