Prof. Shamsul Hayat of the Department of Botany, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), has been elected as a Fellow of two prestigious international scientific organisations in recognition of his exceptional contributions to plant science research.
He has been awarded Fellowship of the Linnean Society of London (FLS), one of the world’s oldest and most respected biological societies, as well as Fellowship of the Society for Plant Research (FSPR). These honours highlight his impactful work in advancing plant sciences.
Prof. Hayat is widely known for his pioneering research in plant physiology, plant growth regulators, stress biology, and sustainable agriculture. His work has significantly contributed to understanding how plants respond to environmental challenges, a field crucial for global food security and climate resilience.
With an extensive portfolio of research publications, books, and mentorship, he has earned recognition at both national and international levels. Currently serving as a Visiting Professor in Poland, Prof. Hayat continues to foster global academic collaboration and scientific exchange.
