Tensions in the Middle East escalated Wednesday after Iran launched missiles and drones at Kuwait, reportedly hitting the country’s international airport and causing casualties. Tehran said the attack was retaliation for recent U.S. airstrikes on Iranian military positions.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said no significant progress has been made in peace talks with the United States, warning that any Israeli strike on Beirut would trigger a full-scale resumption of the conflict.
In a separate diplomatic breakthrough, Israel and Lebanon agreed to renew their fragile ceasefire and establish security zones in southern Lebanon where Hezbollah fighters will be barred, with the Lebanese army taking control of those areas.
