The United States has warned its citizens across the Middle East to be ready to leave amid rising regional tensions, as President Donald Trump and Iran exchange fresh threats. US embassies in Bahrain, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates said Americans should consider departing at short notice because of the risk of “unforeseen escalation”.
The alert comes after Trump threatened to hit Iran “very hard,” raising fears of a wider confrontation. The warning also follows a series of recent regional security concerns involving Iran-backed groups and US interests, prompting Washington to urge caution for Americans in the area.
Diplomatic tensions have intensified as officials in the region try to avoid another conflict spillover. The State Department’s advisory reflects concern that airspace closures, flight cancellations, or sudden violence could disrupt travel and complicate evacuations.
