Chicago – February 10, 2025

Asian Institute of Fashion Design (AIFD) and Iqra University organized the Fashion Odyssey 2024.

The grand event showcased a collection of talented young designers from Iqra University. Top models walked the ramp, and famous fashion icons also took part in the event.

Social media users are of the view that the name of the university doesn’t match with the kind of bold dresses they design. Another social media user wrote, “Iqra is the first word sent by Allah, and they are displaying vulgarity with that word”. Most were of the opinion that the university was promoting vulgarity in the name of creativity.

Many said that the current youth has chosen the wrong path for them and they love to follow Western fashion and culture. A few were of the view that they tried to copy Western fashion without finesse and creativity.
