In a fresh wave of tension in Sambhal district, Uttar Pradesh, authorities have initiated legal action following the discovery of controversial posters inside a mosque, even as revenue officials demolished a dargah claimed to be built illegally on government land.
According to Sambhal Additional Superintendent of Police Kuldeep Singh, seven individuals were booked after “I Love Muhammad” posters were recovered from a building in Kaserua village under the Nakhasa police station limits.
The posters surfaced during a routine exercise to seal the premises. Police have initiated action against members of the local Jamia Committee under relevant legal provisions for the objectionable material.
