India’s youth-led Cockroach Janta Party has called off its protests after Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned amid a widening scandal over exam paper leaks. The move marked a major victory for students and activists who had been pressing the government for accountability and reforms in India’s testing system.
The protests grew out of anger over leaked medical entrance exam papers that forced retests for millions of students and triggered weeks of demonstrations in New Delhi and beyond.
