Chicago – February 02, 2026

Across the United States on Saturday, thousands took to the streets to protest against federal immigration enforcement tactics tied to operations in Minneapolis, in what organizers called a national day of action.

Protesters are not only demanding an end to aggressive ICE and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) practices, but also calling for boycotts of companies perceived as cooperating with federal immigration agencies. In Washington, D.C., a coalition of activists staged a picket outside Target stores highlighting the retailer’s Minneapolis headquarters and its perceived ties to federal enforcement efforts.

Despite freezing temperatures and snow, about two dozen activists marched, chanted slogans including “boycott Target” and “ICE out,” and maintained that sustained pressure is key to advancing their cause.
