Malik Ghulam Muhammad was known for his astute financial mind, a trait honed during his years at MAO College (now AMU).

Before taking the highest office, he was the First Finance Minister of Pakistan (1947–1951). - Crisis Manager: In the turbulent days following Partition, he steered the fragile economy through immense challenges, establishing the State Bank of Pakistan and organizing the first national budget.
The Governor-General - Role: He served as the Governor-General (1951–1955) during a critical period of constitutional development.
