The All India Muslim Personal Law Board has expressed concern over incidents of alleged oppression against Muslims in BJP-ruled states, including mob violence, demolition of mosques and madrassas, and bulldozing of Muslim localities. The Board has announced a nationwide movement in response.
It also strongly objected to making “Vande Mataram” mandatory in government events, schools, and aided madrassas, as well as developments related to the implementation of a Uniform Civil Code in various states. The Board further raised concerns about the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s decision regarding the Kamal Maula Mosque.
According to the Board’s spokesperson, it was decided in the executive council meeting to prepare and publish a comprehensive document highlighting the country’s deteriorating situation, communal tension, and violations of fundamental rights, in order to awaken the conscience of justice-loving and democratic sections of society.
The council also decided to launch a movement, in collaboration with justice-loving, democratic, and patriotic citizens, against the marginalization of Muslims, violations of constitutional principles, promotion of hatred, damage to communal harmony, and attacks on the life, property, honor, and dignity of Muslims. For this purpose, an action committee will be formed.
The Board also reiterated its serious concern over the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s decision regarding the Kamal Maula Mosque.
