Chicago – June 24, 2026

Tasneem Rasool Boaz’s journey through the Indian Railways stands as a compelling testament to resilience and leadership in public service. A distinguished officer of the 1984 batch of the Indian Railway Traffic Service, she entered a male-dominated Class 1 Civil Service at a time when few women pursued such roles.

An alumna of Aligarh Muslim University, Boaz earned her B.A. (Economics) Honours from Women’s College and demonstrated early leadership as a student union cabinet member. Her contributions were later recognized when she was named a Woman Achiever of AMU in 2017.

Beginning as Assistant Commercial Manager in Mumbai, she advanced to Principal Chief Commercial Manager of Western Railway and later served as a Member of the Railway Claims Tribunal in Bengaluru.

Across major cities, she drove innovation and passenger-centric reforms. Retired since 2021, she remains an enduring inspiration to aspiring women leaders. Her legacy continues to influence public service leadership.
