Chicago – June 15, 2026

President Donald Trump announced Monday that a deal to end the three-month war with Iran has already been signed, promising that full details will be released “pretty soon”. The U.S. president stated the agreement aims to conclude the ongoing Middle East conflict and indicated the Strait of Hormuz will reopen from Friday.

However, Iran has disputed Trump’s claim. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei called reports of a finalized deal “speculative,” emphasizing that “nothing has been finalized”. Tehran maintains no definitive agreement has been reached despite Trump’s assertion that a “great settlement” was achieved.

The proposed accord reportedly includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz to global shipping, lifting the U.S. naval blockade on Iranian ports, and suspending sanctions on Iran’s oil exports. It would also establish a 60-day negotiation window on Tehran’s nuclear program and potentially release $24 billion of Iran’s frozen assets.

Trump previously said the peace deal would prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons “through purchase, development, or any other form”. Confusion remains about the agreement’s exact contents as both sides offer varying timelines.
