Recently, Engr. Mujeeb Osman sit together with with Dr. Khutubuddin, MD to take interview about the life and legacy of his close friend, late Sher Mohammad Rajput. Sher Mohammad was a revered activist and a true Indian icon. Dr. Khutubuddin spoke passionately about his contributions to the community and the profound impact he left behind.

When asked about Sher Mohammad Rajput’s character, Dr. Khutubuddin said:

“Rajput was a man of remarkable principles. He embodied the courage of a lion, yet with the gentleness and faith of a true believer. His life was a testament to his values—strength, humility, and an unwavering dedication to the service of others”

He added elaborated on the late activist’s ability to unite people across cultural, religious, and social lines.

“He didn’t just speak of change; he lived it. His activism wasn’t about grand gestures; it was about the quiet, consistent work of uplifting others. Rajput’s work focused on mentoring youth, encouraging them to stand up for justice, and always living with honesty. He was a secular mind, someone who believed in the unity of people beyond borders, backgrounds, and beliefs,” he said.

Discussing the impact Mr. Rajput had on both the Indian and Muslim communities, Dr. Khutubuddin said he was a rare leader whose actions transcended cultural and religious boundaries. His ability to bring people together was unparalleled. He was beloved because he not only stood for justice but also for respect, kindness, and understanding, regardless of one’s background.”

Dr. Khutubuddin also mentioned that while Rajput’s loss is deeply felt, his legacy would continue to inspire future generations.

“While we will all miss him dearly, his principles—justice, fairness, and unity—will live on in us. Let’s honor him by continuing his work and living by the principles he taught us,” he added.

As the community mourns the loss of Sher Mohammad Rajput, Dr. Khutubuddin emphasized that his spirit would live on through the work he inspired in others.

Funeral prayers and burial arrangements will take place in Chicago, with details to be announced soon. The family prays that Allah ﷻ grants him the highest station in Jannah.
