Chicago – July 30, 2026

Samsung Electronics has reported record profits, driven by surging global demand for artificial intelligence (AI) chips and strong performance in its semiconductor business. The South Korean technology giant benefited from increased orders for high-performance memory chips used in AI servers, data centers, and advanced computing systems.

The company said robust demand for high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and advanced DRAM chips helped boost revenue and profitability, reflecting the rapid expansion of AI technologies worldwide. Other South Korean chipmakers have also seen improved earnings as businesses continue investing heavily in AI infrastructure.

Despite the strong results, Samsung noted that global economic uncertainty and geopolitical tensions could affect demand in the coming months. However, the company remains optimistic, citing continued investment in next-generation chip manufacturing and AI-related technologies.

Industry analysts say the AI boom is reshaping the global semiconductor market, with South Korean manufacturers well positioned to benefit from growing demand for advanced memory chips powering artificial intelligence applications.
