Chicago – August 28, 2036

The United States has designated the UK-based activist group Palestine Action as a “Specially Designated Global Terrorist” (SDGT), escalating Washington’s response to the group’s direct-action campaign against companies linked to Israel’s defense industry.

The designation imposes financial restrictions and prohibits U.S. persons from providing funds or other material support to the organization. U.S. authorities have accused Palestine Action of using destructive tactics, including attacks on property and facilities associated with defense companies.

Palestine Action, which campaigns against British companies it says are supporting Israel’s military operations, has rejected the characterization of its activities as terrorism. Supporters argue that the group’s actions are political protests aimed at disrupting arms production, while critics say its tactics cross the line into criminal activity.

The U.S. move comes amid heightened international debate over Israel’s military campaign in Gaza and the activities of pro-Palestinian protest movements. The designation could also have broader implications for activists and organizations accused of supporting Palestine Action.
