Mehbooba Mufti Criticizes Donald Trump’s Policies
Mehbooba Mufti, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, has strongly criticized former US President Donald Trump’s inconsistent policies, especially regarding Kashmir and international diplomacy. Mufti pointed out that Trump’s contradictory statements have destabilized global peace and ignored regional complexities. In 2020, Trump offered to mediate on Kashmir, but his administration later supported India’s territorial integrity, creating confusion.

Unpredictable and Damaging Policies
Mufti also criticized Trump’s abrupt policy shifts on Afghanistan and Iran, calling them “unpredictable and damaging”. She believes Trump’s flip-flops on critical issues, including Kashmir, have created more problems rather than solutions. Mufti has urged world leaders to adopt a more consistent and principled approach to international conflicts.

Call for Coherent International Engagement
As a vocal advocate for Kashmiri rights, Mufti has previously called for dialogue between India and Pakistan. Her latest criticism highlights ongoing tensions in the region and the need for coherent international engagement. Political analysts agree with Mufti’s concerns, noting that Trump’s foreign policy legacy prioritized transactional deals over long-term stability.
