Prof. Nuzhat Husain, a distinguished pathologist and academic leader, stands among India’s most respected figures in medical science, with a career marked by excellence in cancer research and education. An alumna of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), she completed her medical training in 1985, carrying forward the institution’s legacy of progressive and modern education inspired by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan.

Her association with AMU played a defining role in shaping her academic and professional journey, laying the foundation for her contributions to pathology and oncological research. Prof. Husain later served as Professor and Head of the Department of Pathology at King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, where she significantly advanced diagnostic practices and medical training.

She also held the prestigious position of Director at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow. Widely recognized for her work in oncopathology and cancer biology, her research publications have contributed to improved understanding and diagnosis of cancer.

Prof. Husain’s achievements reflect AMU’s enduring legacy of producing leaders dedicated to healthcare innovation and public service.
