Chicago – January 31, 2025

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is making a big effort to win over rural voters in the 2026 midterm elections. The plan, which has been in the works for weeks or even months, was shared by outgoing DNC Chair Jaime Harrison in an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital.

Harrison explained that the goal is to connect with new voters, educate them on key issues, and challenge claims made by former President Donald Trump. Many Democrats believe Trump has a strong hold on voters in red states, and they want to change that by focusing on topics like the economy, health insurance, and taxes.

The DNC is expected to vote on Saturday to choose a new leader, but Harrison wanted to highlight this strategy before stepping down. Democrats hope this effort will help them gain more support in rural areas and improve their chances in the upcoming elections.
