Minnesota Manhunt Ends with Arrest of Vance Boelter
The massive manhunt in Minnesota has finally come to an end. Vance Boelter, 57, was arrested on Sunday night after a huge search effort involving hundreds of police officers, SWAT teams, and a helicopter. Brooklyn Park police Chief Mark Bruley said officers thought they saw Boelter running into the woods near his property in Green Isle. After about an hour and a half, they surrounded him in a field and asked him to surrender.

Boelter Charged with Murders and Shooting
Boelter has been charged with murdering Democratic state Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, as well as shooting Democratic state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette. John Hoffman is still in the hospital, undergoing many surgeries after being hit by 9 bullets. His wife Yvette said they’re “incredibly lucky to be alive” after taking 8 bullets. Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension superintendent Drew Evans said the FBI might bring additional federal charges against Boelter.

Investigation Continues
The attack happened on Saturday morning, when Boelter impersonated a police officer and shot the lawmakers at their homes in Brooklyn Park and Champlin. Police found a list of targets in Boelter’s car, including other lawmakers like U.S. Senator Tina Smith and Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison. The motive behind the attack is still unknown, but officials say it might be linked to growing tensions and threats against politicians.
