Chicago – July 06, 2025

A colorful display of community floats, marching bands, military units, civic groups, veterans, and local celebrities – with an enthusiastic crowd expected to top 10,000  .

  • Grand Marshal: Comedian and Skokie native Esther Povitsky
  • Military Grand Marshal: Lt. Col. (Ret.) Arnie Oskin, honored for his military and community service  .
  • Parade MC: Local resident and career coach Ilene Collins  .

Evening Festivities included live music & family fun starting at 6:30 p.m. including a “Red, White & Boom!” concert event  .

Featured band: Maggie Speaks takes the stage around 8:30 p.m. 

At roughly 9:30 p.m., a grand fireworks display lights up the Skokie night sky. This event is free for all and drew a large local crowd.
