Chicago – July 06, 2026

The Karnataka Election Commission (EC) has outlined alternative measures for voters who are unable to locate their names in the 2002 Summary Intensive Revision (SIR) voter list, addressing growing concerns ahead of upcoming electoral processes.

Officials clarified that missing entries in older electoral rolls do not automatically disqualify eligible citizens from voting. Voters are encouraged to verify their status through the latest electoral rolls available online via the National Voters’ Service Portal (NVSP) or the Voter Helpline app. In cases where names are absent, individuals can submit Form 6 to request inclusion in the updated voter list.

The EC also emphasized the role of Booth Level Officers (BLOs), who are available to assist residents with verification and registration procedures at the local level. Special enrollment drives and facilitation camps are being organized across districts to streamline the process.

Authorities reassured the public that multiple verification channels are in place to ensure that no eligible voter is excluded. Citizens are advised to complete corrections or registrations well before the deadline to avoid last-minute complications during elections.
