Chicago – July 05, 2025

Former President Barack Obama delivered a message on the 250th anniversary of America’s independence, reflecting on the nation’s founding principles and the diversity that defines it.

In his statement, Obama emphasized the significance of the Declaration of Independence, which declared that all people are created equal, endowed with unalienable rights, including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. He noted that, centuries later, the nation has grown into a bold, dynamic, and diverse country, made up of people of all races, faiths, and beliefs.

Obama highlighted that despite these differences, the shared allegiance to the ideals in the Declaration unites Americans. He called it the creed that binds the nation together, turning a diverse collection of individuals into one unified country.

He concluded his message with a wish for all to have a safe and happy Fourth of July.
