The United States will begin air-dropping food aid to Gazans, President Joe Biden stated Friday, as the humanitarian crisis worsens and Israel refuses to open new land crossings to enable more aid into the war-torn enclave.
Speaking in the Oval Office, Biden stated that the US would “pull out all stops” to get more aid into Gaza, which Israel has heavily bombarded since the October 7 Hamas terror attacks.
“Aid flowing to Gaza is nowhere near enough,” the US president stated, adding that “hundreds of trucks” should enter the territory.
Biden stated that the U.S. is “going to insist that Israel facilitate more trucks and more routes to get more and more people the help they need, no excuses.”
He also mentioned efforts to broker a solution to liberate the captives and establish an “immediate ceasefire” that would allow extra help to enter.
The US military is preparing to carry out the airdrops in the coming days.
