Nampally, Telangana Assembly Election Results 2023: We’re done with another election result day. In Telangana’s Nampally seat, Mohammed Majid Hussain of AIMIM won with 62185, beating Mohammed Feroz Khan of INC who polled 60148.
Assembly constituency no.63 Nampalli (Nampally) (నాంపల్లి in Telugu), is an Assembly (Sasana Sabha) seat in the Greater Hyderabad region and Hyderabad district, of the state of Telangana, which is in the South region of India (Bharat). Nampalli is part of the 8. Secundrabad (General) Lok Sabha (Parliamentary) constituency. This constituency can be categorised as: General; Urban constituency.
PAST RESULTS
In the 2018 Telangana Assembly elections, Jaffar Hussain of AIMIM won in this seat defeating Mohammed Feroz Khan of INC by a margin of 9,675 which was 7.01% of the total votes cast for the seat. AIMIM had a vote share of 41.99% in 2018 in this seat.
Political career:
Majid Hussain was hand-picked by the AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi and became the Corporator of Ahmednagar division in the 2009 GHMC Municipal elections.
On 4 January 2012, Majid’s candidature as GHMC Mayor was proposed by AIMIM’s Doodhbowli corporator MA Ghaffar and was supported by the former mayor Banda Karthika Reddy. In a span of 15 minutes, the election process was completed and 31-year-old Hussain was declared the new mayor of GHMC.After a gap of 12 years MIM had succeeded in installing its own mayor in the city with Hussain being the youngest mayor the city had.
