Mayor Brandon Johnson wished everyone a Happy New Year on X.
“Happy New Year’s Eve, Chicago! I am deeply proud of the incredible strides we have made in 2023. I look forward to another year of working with the people of @chicago to create safety, unity, and prosperity in the greatest city in the world.”
This year the Navy Pier’s annual award-winning fireworks show over Lake Michigan, featured 100,000 pyrotechnics. The show lasted 10 minutes.
The firework display is just so astonishing to see, and so it’s just a beautiful way to say happy new year to everyone,” Bolton said. You can watch it from anywhere along Navy Pier.
Chicago Police Officers all over the city are also prepared to assist public and ensure everyone has a safe New Year. Remember, if you see something say something. Call 911.
