Exposing the Myths: How Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan's Legacy Defies the Hate-Fueled Narrative in 'Razakaar.

Chicago – April 23, 2024

Recently, an indian movie, Razakaar, was released in which Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan is shown as an evil ruler. The film depicts that Nizam oppressed and mistreated Hindus in his era. It is also claimed that Hindus were forced to drink urine. However, the story is entirely false. Nizam was a great ruler who was fair in his dealings and provided many services to the people. Even the movie producer Gudur Narayan Reddy‘s house still receives drinkable water from Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar, constructed by the Nizam government.

Importantly, Banaras Hindu University, constructed in 1916 in Varanasi, had no funds to run the institute. That was when Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan donated 1 lakh rupees on 07 January 1939, currently 34 crore INR. All these details of Banaras Hindu University were published in the Times of India on 23rd November 2019.

Moreover, The Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute, Pune, was founded on July 6, 1917, to teach and preach Maha Bharat to the Hindus. The management could not afford a hostel facility for the students and other expenses. Nizam donated 50,000 rupees, currently 17 Crores. Also, one thousand rupees yearly were allowed for Maha Bharat publication.

Nizam Osman also donated 82,825 rupees(28 Crores) to the Yadagirigutta temple in Telangana. He was well-known for working and donating to the mosques and temples equally. On 26 February 2023, the management of Yadagirigutta temple met with Nizam’s daughter-in-law, Princess Esra Birgen. She immediately donated her gold necklace worth 5 lakh rupees.

Nizam government also donated:

  • Rupees 1 lakh (34 Crores) to the Thousand Pillar Temple or Rudreswara Swamy Temple in Hanamakonda.
  • Rupees 50 thousand (17 Crore) to the Sitaram Bagh Temple or Seetharambagh temple in Hyderabad’s old city.
  • Rupees 30 thousand (10 Crore) to the Sita Ramachandraswamy Temple, Bhadrachalam.
  • Rupees 8 thousand (2 core 70 lakh) to the Tirupati Balaji Temple in Andhra Pradesh.

Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan believed that Masjids and Mandirs had equal rights to government resources. He said that Muslims and Hindus are my two eyes, and they deserve to be seen equally.

The Razakaar producer Gudur Narayan Reddy studied B.com LLB from Osmania University Hyderabad, which the Nizam government constructed. His movie is a fake depiction to enhance the Hindu-Muslim hatred in India. It’s the time for Indian Hindus and Muslims to show unity and not fall for such lame stories.
