In 1949, wealthy Jews worldwide donated 1 billion US dollars to build a synagogue in Jerusalem. The aim was to provide the Jewish community with a splendid worship place to connect with God. However, some of the wise Jews proposed to spend the money to educate the community about their religion as well as the latest technology.
After a few meetings with the Chief Rabbi, the officials decided to allocate the funds for an education trust where Jewish kids and youth will learn and recognize their God with wisdom. That’s why the current Jewish community has a 100% literacy rate with some of the best scientists and technologists. That led them to own a major percentage of the world’s businesses.
To get an idea of Jews’ educational standards, 45 universities in Israel meet international educational standards. These 45 universities are among the world’s top 500 higher education institutes. According to an international survey, 92.2% of Jews get higher education.
From the above-mentioned facts, it is clear that education is one of the dire needs to progress in today’s world. Muslim Ummah also needs to come forward and enlighten coming generations with the importance of education and take measures to allocate major funds for its purpose.
