Dr. Jill Biden, the first lady, isn’t holding back as her involvement in her husband’s reelection campaign becomes more apparent.
Even while the First Lady has previously criticized Republicans and the late President Donald Trump, her comments on Friday at an Atlanta event to encourage female votes signaled a definite change in direction and her readiness to remove her gloves.
“Donald Trump poses a threat to our families and women. We can’t allow him to win,” she declared in Atlanta.
The First Lady’s participation in the reelection push becomes more apparent as she launches the “Women for Biden-Harris” coalition and sets out on a three-day, four-stop campaign trip through battleground states. In addition to sending a strong message against Trump, the campaign hopes to excite and organize female voters ahead of the general election by using a prominent surrogate.
As the campaign seeks to gain traction with important demographic groupings, the First Lady is also anticipated to target Black and Latino communities while visiting Arizona, Nevada, and Wisconsin.
