It has been four days since Israel bombed Gaza’s tiniest refugee camp, but Palestinians there are still digging up the dead of their loved ones from beneath the rubble.
At least 90 people were killed in late Sunday’s attack in central Gaza’s Maghazi, including children and many internally displaced residents.
Residents, including Ashraf al-Haj Ahmed, said the attack struck “suddenly” and without warning in one of the bloodiest attacks on the Gaza Strip since Israel launched a war on the territory on October 7.
While the official death toll stands at 90, inhabitants of the camp near Deir el-Balah claim the total is substantially higher because entire residential blocks were wiped out.
