The United States has launched strikes on 85 sites in Syria and Iraq in response to Sunday’s drone attack on a US military installation, which killed three soldiers.
US Centcom claims its soldiers conducted airstrikes on Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps Quds Force and allied militia groups.
“Our answer started today. “It will continue at times and locations of our choosing,” President Biden said in a statement on Friday.
A drone strike at a US installation dubbed Tower 22 resulted in the deaths of three US soldiers and injuries to over 40 others.
The White House blamed Iran and promised a “very consequential response.” Iran denied involvement, calling the claims “baseless” and claiming it was not involved in the decision-making of resistance groups.
