India is the world’s top beef exporter, even though it’s a predominantly Hindu country where many people consider cows sacred. This might seem a contradiction, but a closer look at the beef export business reveals some surprising facts. Many of the companies exporting beef have Islamic names, but they’re actually owned by Hindus.
Why Do Hindu-Owned Companies Use Islamic Names?
Companies in the beef export business often use Islamic names to avoid drawing attention to themselves. It’s a way to reduce the risk of backlash from religious groups while the Hindu extremists have been attacked an killed several Muslims on allegedlyconsuming beef.
Major Beef exporting companies owned by Hindus
- Al-Kabeer is owned by Hindu Satish Agarwaal, who made 650 crore last year.
- Sunil Kapoor owns Arabian Export in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
- Al-Noor by Sunil Sood and their butcher house is in Muzzafar Nagar, UP.
- MKR Exports is owned by Madan Abbott.
- OP Arora owns AOV Exports. The butcher house in Onnao, UP.
- Standard frozen Foods export private limited Kamal Varma and Sachin Varma in Onnao, UP.
Why This Matters?
The fact that Hindus are behind many of India’s beef exporting companies, beef consumption is always connected to Muslims. Infact, many of the Muslims have been beaten and killed by Hindu extremists for allegedly consuming beef.
Despite the religious sensitivity, India’s beef export industry is a big part of the economy. The involvement of Hindu entrepreneurs under Islamic-sounding names is unbearble to navigate religious and cultural pressures.
