On Saturday, a Pakistani-American pediatrician was viciously stabbed to death in her apartment in Conroe, Texas, and a man who authorities believe murdered the physician has been charged with murder.
Dr. Talat Jehan Khan, 52, was stabbed multiple times in the common area of her apartment complex, Alys Apartments, on Saturday at 12:30 p.m., and law enforcement officials believe 24-year-old Miles Joseph Fridrich committed the heinous act.
Bond for Fridrich, who has been accused of first-degree murder, has been set at $500,000.
According to Khan’s family, she and her 14-year-old daughter moved to the Alys Apartments on Mansion View Drive in July and worked at Texas Children’s Paediatrics. Multiple individuals, including several children, according to Conroe Khan’s neighbors, witnessed the assault.
Conroe police caught up to the suspect and hauled him into custody.
While officials have not specified a motive, a delivery driver claims the suspect resides approximately three miles from the apartment complex under a flyover. According to him, Fridrich frequently became angry when his store refused sustenance.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) stated the murder of Khan, stating that it is investigating the crime.
According to Mohammad Ayubi, Associate Director of the Al Ansaar Mosque, Khan had been a frequent visitor to the mosque for a few months and was a “nice person.”
